Project Brief
Our brief was to transform a room at the Botanic Gardens into a first class presentation theatre.
Project solution:
In consultation with Gardens management, a solution was developed featuring a Crestron control unit. For neatness of appearance and ease of use, system audio equipment was housed in an 18RU equipment rack built into a bio box located at the rear of the theatre.
Particular attention was paid to the design and construction of a high quality presentation lectern. In creative collaboration with expert cabinet maker Geoff Fecondo, a lectern was crafted with form and function in mind. At once a convenient and practical control centre, the lectern also stands out as an exceptional piece of furniture that upholds and promotes a professional image for theatre presenters.
Delivery:
The finished result has exceeded all client expectations and provides a fitting complement to our portfolio of first class solutions.
From the beginning of this project, attention to detail was high on our list of priorities. The new theatre incorporates a number of thoughtful features including non able bodied access for laptop presentations and laser etched, interchangeable crest plates that display Australia’s coat of arms — accurate to the finest detail. Interestingly, the plates on the lectern can be changed to promote the speaker and their Department.
Timbers used in the lectern include Tasmanian Blackwood, Silky Oak and Victorian ash.
The decision to use natural Australian timbers was made to reflect our unique botanical heritage and to symbolise the role of the Gardens as custodian of our most important plant species.
The photos of the lectern speak for themselves. This is a piece that reveals the beauty of natural timber carefully created and finished to perfection by master craftsman Geoff Fecondo.
Lectern lighting, display devices and sources including the DVD/VCR combination player are all automated through the touch panel. Easy to navigate controls are an integral part of a system designed to operate effectively for a wide variety of presenters with varying degrees of technical knowledge. These results can be attributed to Millennium’s in house programmer who is regarded as one of the best in the business.
Further evidence of this quality can be can be viewed at our Fyshwick showrooms including cabinetry commissioned for our own displays. These displays include an integrated Plasma lift, housing the worlds first 1080P 50" Plasma, and full timber cabinetry surrounds of Canberra’s very first 2.35 THX certified cinema.
Both of these systems should be seen and heard to be believed so make an appointment now or drop by and let us come up with an exceptional solution for you.
Whether your focus is on a commercial or domestic solution, Millennium Audio Visual will achieve results that only expertise and experience can deliver.
