That was a pretty good article. Regards the copy protection for Blu-Ray, I remember reading on a blog somewhere last week that there are actually more people in the world that know how to break the "copy protection" (turns out it's not really protected at all) than there are people who actually own Blu-Ray discs. What do you think of the AppleTV? It's been getting quite a bit of interest lately. It displays stuff at 720p. I personally can't wait until the iTunes Store gets movies in Australia. I have a Mac Mini hooked up to a Plasma screen here at home with an eyeTV (HDTV reception box), and it's probably one of the coolest things ever... you can pause TV, record it to HD, play DVD's, whatever. I guess what I could do is simply get a couple of external drives - one for Blu-Ray, one for HDTV, that way I don't have to make the choice. In fact, why don't manufacturers just put out dual-capability devices? :)

So, recent happenings in the HD-DVD vs Blu-Ray debate - any interesting news or views about what's going to happen next? I personally think DVD is "good enough" for most people, and that these two formats don't actually offer terribly much more for most people in terms of price-justification. Perhaps hybrid cd/dvd/blu-ray/hd-dvd drives will be the go?
